Moriah teaches Ashtanga yoga classes in the tradition of Mysore. She began practicing with her teacher Christine Hoar in 2010. Moriah teaches out of a love for the practice, and is excited to be bringing Ashtanga to Midcoast Maine.
Moriah currently offers 4 classes per week in three locations in Freedom and Troy (not far from Unity, Belfast). Anyone is welcome to drop in to any class!
The Half Primary is a led class, with the teacher guiding students through part of the primary series. Please arrive at least 5 minutes early to led classes.
Mysore classes are traditional self-paced classes with individualized instruction, great for beginners and experienced students alike. Mysore students may arrive any time within the practice period. Knowledge of the primary series is not necessary to attend a Mysore class.

I believe that this practice is for anyone who feels called to it and aim to make my classes an accessible and safer space for many kinds of bodies. I am open to trades and barters if you feel that you are unable to pay the listed rate. Please reach out to discuss!
I am aware of the complex history of the dissemination of yoga and my place as a white woman teaching this practice. I do not aim to become a brand in the yoga world, and I place myself within the ashtanga yoga lineage. I give 10% of my monthly yoga teaching income towards scholarships for womxn in Anuradha Kowtha's Reclaim space. You are welcome to approach me with any concerns or questions!
